I think I’ve reached the point where I need to stop watching TV. Not permanently, obviously. Let’s not get dramatic.

I just have a slight problem.
I watch way too many shows at once.
Somehow, I’ve managed to start four different series simultaneously, most of which have around twenty episodes. I don’t even remember how this happened. One minute I’m peacefully watching a show, and the next I’ve got four different storylines, 80+ episodes, and a growing list of characters I’m expected to remember.
So, in an attempt to regain some sort of control over my life, I’ve made myself a rule: I am not allowed to start another show until I finish one or two of the ones I’m already watching.
Sounds reasonable, right?
Except for one tiny issue.
My watchlist is enormous.
And it just sits there. Waiting.
Every time I open it, there’s another show that suddenly looks so interesting. A new series comes out? I want to watch it. Someone recommends something? Added. I see a random clip online and become emotionally invested in a show I’d never heard of five minutes ago? Added.
Meanwhile, my four unfinished shows are sitting in the corner like, “Are we ever going to see you again?”
I tell myself I’ll finish them first. I really do.
But then I open my watchlist “just to look.”
And that, unfortunately, is where the trouble begins.
